AlphabetMedia partnered with Zoo Media to reposition the group from being seen as “FoxyMoron-led” to being recognized as India’s first and largest independent network of specialist agencies. The objective was to build collective visibility for Zoo Media, its founders, and each specialist agency, uniting them under one powerful, future-forward identity.
Background & Challenge
While FoxyMoron had achieved significant brand recall within the Indian advertising ecosystem, Zoo Media—its parent network—lacked the same level of recognition. The industry often associated success solely with FoxyMoron, overlooking Zoo Media’s role as a hyper-specialized network offering end-to-end marketing solutions.
The challenge was two-fold:
- Shift the narrative from a single-agency identity to a unified, multi-agency powerhouse.
- Ensure consistent visibility for Zoo Media’s leadership and specialist divisions across mainstream and trade media.
Strategy & Approach
Alphabet Media crafted a holistic communication framework built on three pillars:
- Strategic Media Awareness: We focused on building recognition for Zoo Media as an umbrella brand while amplifying the voices of its specialist agencies and founders equally. The communication shifted progressively from “FoxyMoron” to “Zoo Media” across all narratives.
- Differentiation & Positioning: Zoo Media was positioned as a global, future-ready, independent agency network offering creative, strategy, performance, commerce, and Web3 expertise under one roof. The positioning emphasized innovation and agility, moving beyond a “digital marketing agency” to a homegrown ecosystem of specialists.
- Consistent, Progressive Communication: Alphabet Media executed a research-led, trend-responsive strategy to ensure Zoo Media was part of daily industry conversations. Relevance was built not only through campaigns, but also via thought leadership, trend education, and proactive media engagement.
Execution
- Sustained Industry Narrative Shaping: Zoo Media was positioned as a thought leader by proactively driving media discussions on emerging trends — Web 3.0, social commerce, and performance marketing. Zoo’s experts were featured in 170+ industry stories and quoted across top-tier publications. The team also educated Indian media on global developments, including Meta’s paid blue tick rollout.
- Leadership Legacy & Content Research: We crafted tailor-made narratives for each agency head, rolled over 60 personal and campaign award nominations (achieving a 30% win ratio), and authored 23 thought-leadership articles across leading trade platforms like Campaign India, afaqs, and Storyboard18.
- Expanding the Media Universe (“Beyond the Campus”): To move beyond advertising press, Zoo Media’s expertise was expanded into business media. The flagship campaign #MetaUp earned features in Financial Express, Travel + Leisure, and Curly Tales. Zoo Media’s leadership also participated in 17+ panels, podcasts, and college talks, further expanding its footprint.
- Turning Negatives into Positive Narratives: Alphabet Media humanized the Zoo story by shifting focus from stereotypes of agency culture to progressive work values. Impactful narratives such as ESGO launches and inclusivity campaigns (“When everyone talks about inclusivity in love, what about work?”) reframed internal culture into a strength.
