The Situation

In 2013, the 44th General Assembly of the World Trade Centre, the body responsible for promoting and facilitating trade relations, was scheduled to take place in Mumbai after 25 years. With over 300 global experts, policy makers,and marketing roofs deliberating on the theme of ‘The New Economic Order and World Trade Centre’, it was always going to be a landmark event. Renowned personalities like Dr. Nouriel Roubini, Dr. Parathasarathi Shome,and Hans Martens were expected to be present. So they needed the right communications strategy to do justice to the magnitude of the occasion..

What We Did

We did a pre-event announcement where we informed the press of the news,and gave them all details of the theme, speakers, etc. We then sent targeted invitations to select media and organized thought-provoking interviews that engaged all the different speakers of the panel. We did live exclusives with CNBC, Zee TV and Times Now. That was followed by a media briefing with Mr. Roubini and Dr. Shome, who spoke to the financial press. Exclusives were given to Economic Times and Mint thereafter.

The Results

The summit received unprecedented coverage across all key media. It was broadcasted live across all business channels and saw live interviews with CNBC, NDTV Profit, ET Now,and Zee Business. Moreover, it received front page, detailed features in all leading publications like Economic Times, Mint and Times of India,and even garnered social media buzz with journalists tweeting about the stories
